Excellent advice, Amy, it’s all too easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life, bypassing precious moments spent with loved ones ~ especially children, who grow and change by the minute!
My post today follows on from this theme: http://wightrabbit.wordpress.com/2012/09/13
Great poem you posted, Jacqueline. Sure made me question myself.

I couldn’t agree with you more!
A stormy morning here in the Scottish Highlands but here is my wee shot of positivity. Actually it’s the only post I’ve found I’ve been able to write each week – I’m getting there. Thank you for your inspiration.

Your photo this week is darling – proof of your glorying in Scotland blowing a hoolie. It is symbolic of the pockets of peace we experience in life. Thanks also for Lord Byron. Oh to have his talent!
You’re a wise lass!
“Even though the storm might be raging around you there are always these little pockets of calm that give you just enough time to catch your breath before you trudge on.”
You too, Amy . . . listening is an act of love.
My shot of of positive energy for my Beloved Mother Earth: I registered 45 voters yesterday at the local college…Sure, it cost me a day. By no account do I feel that was lost time. I got to be outside on a gorgeous pre-autumn day with young people who care about their future, but are unsure of the complexities of our electoral system (right down to how to actually vote!). Knowledge is power.
Anne, what a great contribution! There must be a huge call for that sort of help…not only in Colleges. I wonder how many people would get out there if they could be honest about what prevents them from voting. How much of the grumbling and guffawing about taking the time to vote is a smoke screen for some fear that would be so easily remedied by a helping hand?
There’s no moss on you, smart woman!
There is a huge call for registering voters…hubby and I will keep at it. It is honest work that needs doing. And I agree, many people say they don’t vote because their vote doesn’t matter…this is precisely the logic the corporations are hoping the electorate will cleave to. Nope, not on my watch 🙂

Hi Amy…a very special link for you today! http://bodhirose.wordpress.com/2012/09/09/mira-jaya/
Gayle xoxo
What a gorgeous wee lass you have in your life, Grandma! Congratulations, Gayle. I wish you all the best in your new role and responsibilities.
She is a gorgeous wee lass…thank you, Amy. I’m so happy…she and I are going to have a great time!
Amy, I love this. One time when I was a busy director of nursing (and still a nun) I was hurrying somewhere as usual and an elderly man stopped me and said, “Sister, please take time to give us your smile…that’s what we need most.” That has stuck with me as one of the most touching lessons I have ever learned. Now, if I can just remember it!
Oh, Victoria, what a great gift that man gave you. He spoke a truth that is etched in every soul. He had the courage to speak it! I’m sending you a smile filled with love, dear woman.
Love your story, Victoria…such a seemingly small thing..but not.
It’s those little things that count in the end, isn’t it?!

Great message. Just this afternoon, instead of taking that nap I intended to take, my sister called. She was distressed and needed to talk. We talked for nearly two hours. Those were well-spent hours.
To think, Lorna, that we dare have downers about being purposeless! Even nanoseconds… You fabulous sister!
I just love the photos and text that go with them…a sentiment worth sharing and doing…cheers!
The photos were on a farm where that little boy was so determined to help this cute little girl who was visiting. I’m afraid she made no attempt to help him back out of the thorny blackberry patch. Non-chivalrous Woman! 🙂
Great piece of advice Amy Aunty. So true. Nowadays I am doing something similar. And this picture is really beautiful. 🙂
I’ve been reading your posts, Arindam. Please don’t think, “I am just an Engineer.” Those belief systems set up by others are “conditioning” traps. You carry on being the best engineer that you can be! Amaze even yourself! There! Do you feel my attention on you? 😀
Yes, I always feel your attention. But more than being a best engineer I would love to be known as a good enough writer. Can you bless me with that! 🙂
Of course, my young friend! I can ask for those blessings too.
Hi Amy. Love your blog as much as ever. Great advice.
Thank you, Carol, for you diligence in helping people realize that healthy eating and healthy weight are partners!
Indeed Amy, we need to gain the consciousness of who we truly are to be able to fully turn our attention to someone else while holding no personal agenda.
Thank you.
Shakti
Cute! You have to love a child’s curiousity. Sometimes, their wisdom blows me away.

Perfect, Heaven Happens! Thank you for participating! Please feel free to share each week.
I love Heaven Happens’ prayer and I’m going to use it. A Lot 🙂
Hi Kate…again I see a glimpse of that beautiful soul you maintain.
Ooo, those photos are LOVELY.
****YOUR FULL ATTENTION.*** Yes. What a GRAND gift, Amy. xxx
One of my all time faves by Maya Angelou….
Yes, I am definitely familiar with this one, Kim. And I loved listening to it again. Phenomenally you, young woman!
The gift of attention is one of those that come back to encircle and infill us. We are always enriched.
Many blessings for this one, Amy.
Speaking of attention…it’s time for me to catch up with your musings. A big hug to you. You are never far out of my center.
To take time to give someone a….smile!
What a great and wise lesson and reminder from Victoria…’time’ for others is truly a gift beyond compare…one that needs to be remembered and acted upon on a regular basis…
Thank you for the reminder about time Amy…specially relevant in the ‘seemingly’ hectic world we purport to be living in these days….
God bless…
