World Leaders, Irresponsible Corporations and Mindless Consumers

Thank you, Linda, at “Rangewriter – What Comes Next?”

Linda, whose messages are consistently spiritually relevent and insightful, introduced a video called  “She’s Beautiful…” – shared by Shashidhar Goud on Face Book.

(This meager contribution is a heartfelt attempt to support Mr. Goud and her.)

Shashidhar Goud wrote, when he posted the video:

“This is a non-commercial attempt to highlight the fact that world leaders, irresponsible corporates and mindless ‘consumers’ are combining to destroy life on earth. It is dedicated to all who died fighting for the planet and those whose lives are on the line today.”

“The cut was put together by Vivek Chauhan, a young film maker, together with naturalists working with the Sanctuary Asia network (www.sanctuaryasia.com).”

We’ve all shared in the destruction.

Now, it’s time for reconstruction.

Turn off your busyness.

Give your heart a chance to hear.

Even the tiniest gesture helps.  Do it and grow.

  1. Thank you for showing us this very sobering reminder of what we have, and what we stand to lose if we don’t wake up in time. I feel so sad after watching Vivek Chauhan’s beautiful film, especially sad to see all those young people who were slain simply because they tried to stand up to defend the earth or the animals. I said it on my blog and I’ll say it here, STOP THE KILLINGS

As you said, we are all guilty because we’ve all shared in the destruction -whether we’re brave enough to own up or not – and its important for us all to work together for the reconstruction so we can leave something for our children and grandchildren. One small step at a time.

  2. So many people feel that their little contribution won’t make a difference…so they continue to do and use things like always…thus adding to the problem…thanks for this post.

    • Yes, the breath! It hooked me immediately as well. I wonder…will videos just become another thing to speed through? Wonder if people look inward or if they are busy thinking about who to send it to next.

  5. I adored the breath of life captured so well and so poetically…..and then we got tossed into the mix and I found myself feeling tense, irritated and then just sad……and then the bells tolled….and I wept.

    I’m not surprised.
I’m just saddened at what we created and the lives we’ve forever changed.

    *sigh*

      • Actually, it’s quite sad. There’s really not enough included in curriculum about world fragility. We have the obligatory recycle bins, but that’s about it. And kids are so wrapped up in themselves at the age I work with that it’s tough to get their attention. I am going to share this video with a few at work who I know will be impacted. Thanks again.

      • Amy, I’m replying again because I see that my full name is appearing again. It shouldn’t be. I went in and changed my profile info. Hopefully this works now.

        • I’m amazed that some kids can seem so centered on self, yet have the greatest ideas when asked!

You comment came with your personal names. I took off your last name and added your link info. So good luck…fun challenges! Enjoy Monday!

  6. SD, Thank you, first for sharing this video and its message with your larger audience. You did it far better justice than I did and I’m glad. And second, thanks for referencing me so kindly. You describe me in ways that I don’t see myself at all!

Here’s to living each day mindfully.

    • Strange how we can receive a sincere compliment and suddenly feel we now have to live up to it. 🙂 Virtues shine through us at various degrees – 96% or 26%. Where you are at on that scale is up to you, but I certainly see those virtues in what you write and how. Blogger friend Jamie, Into the Bardo, posted the video and included the link to the full version of that video you shared. It’s called Home: http://www.cultureunplugged.com/play/6174/Home. I watched it. Be prepared – it gives rise to lots of emotions!

  7. SD, as per your recommendation, I watched the documentary “Home” by Yann Arthus Bertrand. You are correct. There is much to think about, much to rue about the impact of my life to my host organism. Thanks for sharing this.
