Did you know

PARADISE exists?

And love persists?

In fact, the evidence is all around us.

A new brand of mushroom in my neighbourhood!

What’s under your nose?

This post is dedicated to my SoulJourner Sister, Carol, who showed me the beauty of birds in South Africa.  Thanks, Carol…I could have missed them.

  1. you know, I’ve thought about this one before….the song about paving paradise used to bum me out until I realized that paradise is STILL beneath the parking lot, and that parking lot is merely temporary….I think of this every time I see a dandelion or plantain growing out of a crack in something like pavement or a concrete sidewalk…

    • Your soul is showing, dear woman! One time, Anna, I prepared some course material for management training. I choose different photos to emphasize the point of each chapter. For the one relating to motivation, attitude, and determination, I chose a dandelion coming through a barely visible crack in a world of concrete. One of the managers said to me, “Dandelion? Why a stupid dandelion for this chapter?” I would have been terrified to give an attitude like his back to any staff except that the rest of the participants jumped on the question. At the end of the session I was able to sincerely thank him for motivating the group into teaching the chapter!

    • Hi Carolyn…hope you have some Nature under your nose today. I’m off for a walk later so will see lots to be grateful about. I certainly didn’t see the dazzling display shown in the video from New Guinea provides, but the South African birds love colour, as well.

  2. What a beautiful video. Since the topic is birds, whom I love, I will add a link to a dancing cockatoo to make you smile. He starts off slowly, then gets into it and dances his tailfeathers off. Hilariously adorable. Enjoy!

  3. Whoa! I didnt expect the entire video to pop up here, I just copied the link…..if you need to fix it, do go ahead! I didnt want to OCCUPY your entire site 🙂 Hee hee. He is a hilarious birdie.

  5. What awe inspiring beauty these birds display…the Good Lord be praised…many thanks for sharing this Amy!
What incredible lessons are to be found in nature whether it be in Manaement training courses or just life lessons…what is needed is the eye of the soul with an open mind…
    God bless…

    • Shamaji, I just read your September post about “I Believe” As I commented – can we somehow ask everyone to live those concepts? I really is only a decision. Go on, readers – inhale some great wisdom: shamasheikh.wordpress.com

  6. Wow…..how do they DO that?! And how does that dancing birdie not fall off the perch? Ah, the questions in life, huh?

Amazing things happen when we just sit still and let what’s going to happen……happen.
Not sure why we feel compelled to control that ALL THE TIME…..LOL (okay….probably speaking for me there!)

    Happy Thursday, ma’am.
I shall now, on your advisement, make a visit!

  7. Very rudely indeed I already reposted [am I in the doghouse?] a few hours ago. Think the original thoughts and video + that wonderfully ‘naughty’ cockatoo dance just perfect ere our upcomng weekend!
